President Trump is Sick

In the middle of the presidential campaign, a major thing happened that is partly expected, but with a little defiance, too. President Trump contracted COVID-19. This is blamed mostly for his refusal to wear masks as advised by health experts, and many see this as a reckless example that endangers American public health.

The diagnosis came as a disaster waiting to happen as debates circulate on whether COVID-19 poses a grave threat to people when the common flu has killed more than the coronavirus ever had, as a pretext for not wearing face covering in public places.

But this issue is not just about President Trump. It is also about responsibility. It is widely understood why some people do not want to wear face masks because it is very uncomfortable, especially if you are not accustomed to wearing it. Coronavirus simply disrupted our social spaces and has greatly damaged the economy, our educational system, and our normal lives.

This time is also about the elections. It is about the broken healthcare system, and it must be discussed. As President, Trump has access to the best medication there is, while many Americans suffer to access treatments due to lack of health insurance. America must confront its own demons in order to redeem itself from all criticisms as it tries to lead the world. America is undoubtedly the greatest country in the world, but its domestic affairs must be tended, too, with the same fervor we put in keeping the world in order.

The virus should not dominate our lives for sure, but we must also do our part as a matter of precaution. Coronavirus infection is a health matter, so we must follow the advice of health experts. We have to act responsibly, not just for ourselves, but for the sake of others, as well. The vaccine is on its way any time soon, and this should not really take that long.

Whether comoon flu is deadlier than coronavorus or not, let us all just err on the side of caution, and rest our case.
