A Potential Cure and the Cancellation of the Olympics
As the pandemic spread like wildfires, infecting each nation in rapid succession while government lockdowns are trying to flatten the curve, the United States has announced of a potential cure to prevent more deaths as the coronavirus continues to claim more lives.
The world has not witnessed an unseen enemy of this magnitude in quite some time probably since the Second World War and now it threatens our daily lives. Disruption of social gatherings and supply of food has caused panic and boredom, and it keeps getting worse and worse.
Now, the International Olympic Committee has decided to postpone Tokyo 2020 until the summer of 2021, and it attests to the fact that our daily routine will not be coming back anytime soon. This fight is taking its toll, and it will be long.
Around the world, cities have become ghost towns, a lot of people are isolated at home fearing for their health, and not everybody has access to testing kits. Governments are trying to contain the virus with not much success, and the terror is in the eyes of people. The unseen enemy seems to be creeping into the right places.
The Pope has led the Faithful to prayers in an attempt to appease the people and hope in the Lord. Italy has been severely affected and numbers have died in the country. It seems that the elderly has severe risk of dying from the disease, and drastic measures have been employed.
All of us must do our share in this time of crisis. And by doing so, we closely understand and miss our daily routines. Right now, we can only hope to come back in our normal lives soon.
